Well celebrate #ResurrectionSunday tomorrow at Abyssinian Missionary Baptist Church by concluding the sermon series Faith Focus: Making God Priority Number 1!!! with the sermon, Having LOVED and LOST from Matthew 28:1-6... heres an excerpt --- There is not one passage in the passion narrative where we ever hear Jesus wondering where any of the people who he helped are at. Jesus does cry out about feeling forsaken but not by people... by God. Jesus’ priority was not pleasing people... it’s about pleasing God. Jesus’ focus was never whether or not he’ll be abandoned by people it’s whether or not he would be attended to by the almighty! And as I prophetically and poetically pull into the parking lot of our preaching text I happy to report this text is evidence that when our focus is pleasing God (not merely pleasing people) the people will still be blessed but we get access to the benefits of God’s love. We might be beaten, bruised, battered and crucified but not even crucifixion communicates the loss of God’s love crucifixion communicates the length of God’s love. This text shows us that God’s love is endless. We cannot lose God’s love because God’s love is beyond the scope, power and reach of any human hands! Even when it seems that God’s love has been buried, God’s love is still not lost. God’s love is God’s life. God’s life is God’s blood. And God’s blood is never lost. It reaches to the highest mountain. It flows to the lowest valley. God’s love gives me strength from day to day and God’s love will never lose its power! #MEETMEATABC
