Well, completed another toy run today....cold and wet...ing home just cold....stopped to visit with Jamie at Pizza Junction, but they were closed and she did not hear me in time so I left....then the disaster....lost control of the Concours 14....Why I still do not know....felt almost like I had a flat on the front tire....which I did not....but steering just went away and walking speed and I dropped it.....might have stalled the motor and not realized it.....maybe some fragment of junk stuck in a brake locking it up...minor scrape on the palm of my left hand and bruise on my left leg....was pinned under it....thanks to Macie and Quinn for helping me out and picking it up.....a major scrape on the left hand mirror mount, some scratches that might compound out on the lower left fairing....some more serious scratches on the bottom front of the left saddlebag, and a slightly bent gear shift lever......was it something I did???? Did I just get careless???? Its the not knowing that has me frustrated now....after picking the bike up, it ran and handled great.....but now the question is, Do I really trust it after this?. It is incredibly powerful and has the potential to be lethal.....and this accident happened at walking speed, or perhaps even slower.....and this bike handles very well at both high and low speeds.....I just do not understand and that is driving me nuts.....had already planned to check with local body shops to see of some relatively minor scrapes on the right side saddlebag could be fixed.....now I have two that need a little body filler and a new coat of paint....ditto for the mirror.....I am sure I will not be happy if I have to order a new mirror.....guess I could Bondo the scratches myself and then paint both with some flat black, which would look OK, probably not noticeable to any one but a Kawasaki fanatic.....gearshift lever is an easy fix, providing it does not break when I try to bend it back into shape.....fairing scratches may compound out or maybe just need a little wax.....anyway caution is the watchword now.....better not happen again.....oh, well, shot at and missed.....most of you know how the rest of it goes.....
