Well, crap. Such a small crowd for such a great evening. My HUGE thanks to Joe Heyen for sharing his film Cowtown Ballroom - Sweet Jesus! with our small, but enthusiastic crowd tonight in our backyard. We shared an amazing historical KC music experience together, and it was a night I will always remember. Those who left immediately after missed the extend version of Woodstock, which had the few of us remaining in our somewhat inebriated seats, singing loud and long. Special thanks must go to my great and longstanding friend Steve Russian for providing exemplary sound gear and the effort involved in setting it up. Old friends with a common vision are invaluable. Moreover, thanks big time to Mark Siettmann and Debra Knapp for sticking it out for the long run, then using their old roadie skills to break down the considerable sound and video infrastructure we had deployed, and getting it indoors, safe from the elements, before heading home, tired and, hopefully, satisfied with the evening. Thanks to all who came tonight, and all who have been with us for past showings. My legal counsel tells me that doing this is incredibly illegal, so for those of you who enjoy living on the edge...perhaps we will see you in September, when we will finally pop John Mitchells The Princess Bride cherry, and then, if he isnt bleeding too much, follow it up with Legend.
