Well crud. Here goes nothing. I let someone get under my skin today. Actually they have been pushing my buttons for sometime. But, as some of us with very passionate views often do - I find myself in the very uncomfortable position of owing the button pusher an apology. She will likely as not, not see this apology - though I have no doubt somebody will pass it on in one fashion or another. I lost my temper. I said some things I could actually take back FB style. I could just kill the thread and delete the whole post - then it would be forgotten soon enough. Feels like the chicken shit thing to do. This person and I will likely never really understand each other. We infuriate each other actually. BUT. I always talk big about tolerance and free speech. Today I did not hold to those principles. I got down in the mud and insulted someone. It was uncalled for. I deeply regret it. Not the disagreeing with her. I regret letting it get personal. In any case - I am working on learning to take a time out. Working out trying to figure out how to walk away from some arguments without feeling cheated or silenced. Serious character flaw. So I apologize for lowering the level of discussion today. Not gonna let things go that far again.
