Well, damn. It looks like I wont be going BlackFriday shopping after all. Id saved up some money too - but the only stores who have the deals I wanted badly enough to stand in line for... start those deals on Thanksgiving. I vehemently disagree with that practice for 2 reasons. 1: Working retail sucks badly enough without the process of picking who gets holidays off and who doesnt, and as a previous retail assistant supervisor I know damn well almost NO ONE gets a free pass on Black Friday. You dont show up, you dont have a job. Period. Making employees give up time with family on a family holiday is beyond cruel. 2: This year, my own family lives over an hour away, so if I wanted a spot in line with even a remote chance of getting the items I wanted Id have to ditch my family to drive back to Eureka from Southern Humboldt before LUNCH. A stupid TV and PS4 are not worth ditching my grandma on Thanksgiving. Boo #walmart and #target. BOO!
