Well done to the Artworks Trenton event Art All Day. This sibling event of Art All Night - Trenton was a major success! I had the pleasure to lead a walking tour of over a dozen people to several locations of indoor/studio space and public outdoor installations. No need for Trenton 365 Show to post images I am sure you can find 1000s if you look for them. Upon arriving at Artworks Trenton artworkstrenton.org I was greeted by the food trucks WTF Food Truk Tim McRae Dannytim Wtftruk and Lisa McRae along with Braz BQ the creation of Adriano Redante. The Eric Jackson Administration was well represented with Eric E. Jackson himself, Michael Walker, James Taliaferro and Terry McEwen. The ~20 ppl who joined me on the tour with a stroll down the walking path along the Assunpink past the statue of George Washington where I gave my repetitive statement about George Washington becoming the George Washington we know on the streets of Trenton NJ. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Assunpink_Creek At Passage Theatre at the Mill Hill Playhouse we chatted with Damein(sp) the newest member of the staff who shared the current line up of events and shared about the events scheduled for later in the evening in partnership with Trenton Filmmaker Jeff Stewart and the Trenton Film Society. We then headed around the corner to the Anne LaBate curated event Segal-Labate Commercial Real Estate with artists Joseph Albertus, good friend and Tacloban City Philippines Supporter Jamaila Heart Hernandez (stay tuned) Kathleen Hurley Liao Lucretia McGuff-Silverman, Thomas Montanari Jason Norton, Ericka Rachel and Rider University Artist Andrea Williams. After leaving we headed west on Front street through the beautifully maintained Mill Hill Park (Big Up) to Derek D-Block of the TDA-Trenton Trenton Downtown Association and SAGE Coalition. During the tour I wanted to make sure the organic culture was represented so I shared about the many initiatives happening like Greykult Skateboards and other skaters who are organizing to have a skate park built in Trenton, the Hive planters, Free Library Boxes, TerraCycle cigarette recycling program and more. We arrived at our next location Turning Point United Methodist Church shout out to the mural created by Leon Rainbow William Genghis Kasso and others depicting Jesus and several children. This location was curated Craig Shofed aka CA Shofed and included artists Joe Fanaroff, Sharee Harden, Jerry Luciani, Terina McKinney, Howard Michaels, Z Millington, Abelardo Montano, Mellisa Nowacki, Regina Ritter and Sarita Wilson. A few doors north was TCNJ-The College of New Jersey TrentonWorks Art Gallery & Bonner Center Offices with artists Devon Chebra, Kate Eggleton, Chris Ernst, CJ Harker, Nelly Kouzmina, Elise Mannella Brittany McCarthy, Carrie Wainwright, Robert Zitzman and Abraham Collins. Several passersby asked what was happening and provided a mission moment for the event Art All Day and Artworks Trenton in general. We made a left at the corner of S. Broad and State St headed to Warren. We viewed a few of the murals produced by SAGE coalition and I shared of my youth coming from Ewing to Trenton to get my Chuck Taylors from Snyders. We stopped at the corner of South Warren were we chatted about the public art located in front of the building that houses the Higher Education Commission and pointed out in the distance TESC-Thomas Edison State College and the New Jersey State House As we walked down S. A short walk around the corner across from the newly branded Wyndham Hotel is Classics Books & Gifts. Greeted by co-owner Eric Maywar and community activist Candice Frederick the group met spoken word artist Todd Evans and took in the site of local artist crafts and hundreds of books. At the end of the block we stopped on the steps of the Visitors Center destinationtrenton/visit-trenton/visitor-services/ to chat about the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in the background, the open space proposal for a park and the state house complex in the distance. I took this time to encourage the group to contact the nj.gov/state/memorial/ about events at the War Memorial in comparison to other state of NJ owned performing arts facilities such as https://google/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=state+of+nj+owned+performing+arts+venues Heading to our final stop we chatted about The Old Barracks, the Masonic Temple and Clarke, Caton, Hintz clarkecatonhintz/main/index.php Our final stop was Exit 7A Creative Services & Studios where artists Anthony Fearron Jamie Luning Scott Miller Autin Wright and Tony Goggles showcased some work.
