Well, finished my tomato sauce at last and it is n the freezer. Ended up withabout a litre, at a guess.A lot of work for that, and when you think I can buy it for 30 cents for a small carton, probably very expensive, if you take in gas, and labour.- Still when I am making my pasta sauce with it, I can feel a sense of satisfaction, knowing the toms were grown with love and I sauced them with my own lily white mitts! Southern European cooking, done traditionally is damned hard work, its no wonder they never had an Industrial Revolution, they were too busy cooking! I was shown a vídeo while I was in hospital, of some of the staff making traditional Easter sweetmeats, cakes , pastries, that sort of thing. Took about 10 women, a huge open fire, a very dangerous looking cauldron of olive oil, lots of eggs, flour and sugar. And some sticks to poke the frying goodies with. Then what seemed like hours of making and frying! It certainly seemed to take hours to watch! I do remember there was a lot of singing too! And some impromtu dancing. So at least they were happy in their work! Lol! the Spanish could turn turn toilet cleaning into a party if there was 2 of them!
