Well going to add more chickens this year as layers are about 2 years old and production may drop soon. But a few i believe im going to house separately. These will be completely organic. Very costly but well worth it to our health. Were are feed runs 15.99 to 18.99 for 50 lbs. The complete certified organic and non GMO will be 18.99 for 10 lbs. Theres a huge online market for them. But not so much around here. Sure people would love them. But getting 2.00 a dozen for eggs that sell 4.00 a dozen ever where else I doubt I have many whod pay the price for these. Most quit buying at 2.50 even. But im going to try and see what i get in them and still be ahead. I will also be setting up for fertile eggs. The ones you can incubate. And some prefer them for eating. Hopefully I can get it working. So if any of this is something your interested in let me know in a private message. As this isnt advertising. Just thinking and thought id share. Ill still have my normal home raised and no antibiotics or chemicals used. Still 2.00 a dozen till i need to add heat. Right now i running 80 watts of light 16 hours daily to keep them on schedule. But a heater will jump it to about 1500 Watts almost 24/7. So for those who think its too much get them while you can. To the rest well have some all winter.
