Well hello, It has been a little cool here in Denton, I have - TopicsExpress

Well hello, It has been a little cool here in Denton, I have been working on my need UTV and taking it out behind the complex here where I live. We have a large area for cattle and horses out here. I have been looking for Hogs out there. Since we have around 3 million of these guys I am looking to hunt them for Sport and Public Service. These guys do a lot of Environmental damage, largely coming from when these wild hogs dig up earth to feed. This destructive habit not only harms crops and native plants but promotes the spreading of invasive trees and grasses. This damage is not exclusive to rural areas - many cities incur extensive damage to lawns gardens and parks. Wild hogs cause an estimated $1.5 billion in damage every year, and the number is rising with each new litter. I was hoping to hunt a near by area, but this became unavailable to me, so I was hoping to find the same problem here, and since I was hoping to hunt this area, yes for the same reasons, but it would be easier for me to do so. And since the area is in many ways similar, I am looking for the buggers. I had some folks suggesting that there was something wrong with me, but I know that they arent aware of how big this problem is. These wild hogs can have up to two litters a year, and each litter can be 10 to 12 in number. And the damage can be permanent, we are talking Agricultural fields, planted corn, and hay, the damage comes from rooting, when the wild hogs dig up the earth to feed. This damage the eco-system killing off bi-game food plots, and pastures. By-the-way, I am still looking for one or two guys or gals for that matter to go out, say once a month or so and help me hunt some of these guys. And if I find some of these Hogs in the area, I am hoping to clear it with the Cattle and Horse Ranchers in the area and get me some of the good bacon. And if you are not aware, we have some organizations in the area that help to collect and process some of this delicious meat and get it to the needy at no cost. So it is a win-win for all of us. And if there are a farmer or Rancher out there, please on tack me, I would be glad to help rid these guys from your place, at no cost. I am retired at this point, and I shoot and hunt pigs as my job at this point. Thanks, Gene
