Well, here I go again. Today I will have Surgery # thirty-something, a repair to a torn elbow tendon. When they called to do my pre-op questionnaire the other day, the nurse said Since you are 1 of our frequent visitors, can you recite all the pre-op instructions to me? I told her of course, right down to bringing a copy of my advanced directives. She was impressed. My dear sweet NIck is taking the day off to be with me and my mom will tag team him later today and tomorrow, and I hope to be working again on Wednesday. Man, this is stuff is getting old, but Im thankful 1) for the marvels of medicine, and an orthopedist I trust, 2) that I have insurance, but most of all, for the Great Physician who does the heavy lifting.
