Well....here is the info from my doc appt. First I do NOT carry the breast or ovarian cancer gene. Good news for my sis and nieces! I am in stage lll. The doc said that had he just done a lumpectomy, he would have to go back and remove the breast. It was spreading outside the lump we felt. He had to remove all the lymph nodes and he biopsied 14 of them. 9 of the 14 were cancerous. I have had 3 drainage tubes since the surgery. Today he removed 2 of them. When he pulled them out, OUCH OUCH OUCH. However, the right side without the tube feels so much better now! I go back Monday and have the final drainage tube removed. He is reaching out to his colleagues to ensure I get a great oncologist that may be closer to me than Shreveport. I should begin chemotherapy within a month or so and that will be done if all goes well in about 4-6 months. I also have to do hormone replacement therapy. Then we begin radiation. I did get a slap on the hand for not relaxing more n resting. And I get it. Yesterday n more so today I have been so tired! Without the Hotty, my Bubby, my friends and family, this journey would be harder. Thank you for the prayers, support and love.
