Well here we go again! What Is This About? “We are not opposed to ALFs*, but we are opposed to one on Marina Island.” From the web page of (Save our Marinalsland) I don’t live within the city limits of Sanford, but I do live in Sanford and I have enjoyed the Sanford Marina all my life. Marina Island should be upgraded and the old motel demolished. But replaced with something designed for families. Maybe Fort Mellon Park should be extended over too Marina Island to accommodate more family fun. (the park is over crowed) NO! Assisted Living Facility on Sanford’s Marina Island. Sanford is growing with young families, new homes, better jobs, and a whole new image. Keep moving forward!! Sanford’s Marina Island should NOT go into a state of retirement. Let there be sunshine, kids, water actives, picnics, and lights at night. That’s my opinion!!
