Well it is October 31st and we have our final summary for the Eurasian snow pack across Asia and North America! *During the month of October, a crucial method meteorologist look at for a idea on if we are going to have a cold winter is by looking at the build up of snow cover across the northern hemisphere in Asia and Canada. A strong relationship to excess snow cover has lead to cold winters across North America* According to the latest readings.... This months snow pack is the highest in over a decade! Based on climatology, this brings a likelihood of a negative phase Arctic Oscillation which help create blocking and advance strong cold blast to the US. This excessive snow cover could lead to a return of the Polar Vortex into our area once again. Looks like everything is falling into place for a active winter ahead of us! -Hunter
