Well, it looks like my ordeal is almost over! I havent mentioned it since I initially posted it 3 months ago, but I am finally getting my kidney stone procedure done tomorrow at 10 a.m.! WOOO HOOO!!! It wasnt supposed to be for another week and a half, but the doctors office called today and said they had a cancellation and asked if I wanted to take the empty slot. Of course, my response was, HELL YES! Luckily I havent had any pain from the kidney stone itself for the entire 3 months. I think the reason for that is that its such a large stone and has lodged itself and is not moving anywhere. They only hurt when theyre moving through the system and this one is lodged in very tight because of its size. The biggest problem has been the kidney drain on my left side, accompanied by the bag that Ive had to wear strapped to my leg for THE LAST THREE MONTHS! The two things I worry about tomorrow are: 1) About 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a kidney tract infection. I have been taking antibiotics since then, so I hope thats cleared it up. It could cause complications in the procedure. 2) It appears to me, from my observations, that my skin has ATTACHED itself to the tube coming out of my back, just because its been in there so long! The procedure that I am having done is an outpatient thing and should only take about an hour. So, I hope the attached tube isnt a problem and causes it to go any longer than it has to. I am keeping my fingers crossed on both of these situations, since either one could cause an unwanted delay in the procedure and I would have to reschedule for a later date. The procedure starts at 12:00 pm Pacific time, so any wishes for prayers or good luck would be much appreciated! One last note, make sure you drink plenty of water because it helps prevent kidney stones! Otherwise you could someday end up in the same situation Im in! :(
