Well its been an interesting past few days. Life is all about the highs and the lows. After leaving one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen - Akaroa, we set sail for Milford sound via Dusky sound and Doubtful sound. Full of expectations of Lord of the Rings type scenery, a fog rolls in with zero visability and the disappointment on the ship was palpable - although what we did see was the most AMAZING cascade of waterfalls throughout the sounds ( pics to follow). It turned out to be a different experience - not the one expected but stunning none the less. Having docked in Milford sound for 6 hours longer than we were meant to we learn that the hold up was due to the death of one of the staff on board- a pastry chef (apparently happens from time to time) - which again makes you value that our time is precious. After a mesmerizing journey through the sounds I wake up the next morning at sea and to a sore throat and cold that has kept me in bed for the last 2.5 days - and at least warded off any embarrassing attempts at Karaoke that may have ensued ( I have no voice) But also meant that I couldnt get up and have a sing with the house band. Although I do admire the staff on this ship and dont think that I could cope with the demands of working on a ship. After 2.5 days at sea and no internet ( such a blessing ) we have just docked in Hobart. And although frustrated that Im not on %100 form still looking forward to the day at Mona and valuing each day as it comes..
