Well, its that time of year again. March Madness, the greatest sporting spectacle in the world. And while your NCAA bracket has probably been torn to shreds by now, I’ll graciously offer you all a chance to redeem yourselves by participating in…. BEER BRACKET 2014!!! That’s right, the 6th annual competition to crown the greatest brew in the world is underway. A few notes about the field this year before we start. - You might notice my tastes have changed slightly over the past year, and much like the actual NCAA tournament, most of the high seeds are on the darker side. - As usual, most of the favorites are from the great state of Wisconsin, although two previous winners from Germany and Belgium managed to grab #1 seeds. - I did away with the usual regionals (Wisconsin, American, Foreign and Hangover) because they let inferior beers get to the late rounds. While I know we’ll all miss the titanic matchups between brews like Beer 30 and Keystone Ice in the Sweet 16, I think it’s for the best. - Yes, Spotted Cow is a #9 seed. Deal with it. It’s just not that good. If Spotted Cow is your favorite beer, then I pity your taste buds. Like usual, I’ll post four matchups a day on Facebook and Twitter and count your votes to determine winners. If anyone picks a perfect bracket, I’ll give them a billion dollars*. Let the games begin. challonge/beerbracket_2014
