Well one of our trucks has a radiator worth its weight in gold. In Baton Rouge, La yesterday we had a radiator bust. It took a while to find a garage and had our truck towed there. We called and found a deal on a radiator and asked the garage to remove ours and pick this one up ( We were going to pay mileage for them to pick it up and we were going to pay for it ourselves) They called and told us they were adding a 30 % up charge for the radiator. HUH I questioned it because we were paying for it they were just to do repair. The told me that if I didnt like it they would pull MY *&^%$ truck out on the street and where I could go. I was not happy but had a very high dollar load on the trailer that had to be kept secure. My customers were nervous but trust me to do the right thing. They picked up the radiator this morning, they got it finished around 7 pm tonight. Radiator cost 2700.00 we had it bought for $1300 .00 but their up charge added $1400.00 to the cost..... Antifreeze 5 gallons was $189.00 that is $37.80 per gallon. Labor was 1125.00 they said it took 3 hours to take the old one out. If I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that it took 5 hours to put back then that would mean that they charged $140.00 an hour. Towing the truck approximately 6 miles $750.00 This company is listed on NTTS Breakdown site as All Towing and Truck Repair, the invoice they faxed said Ascension truck Repair and our driver said the Tow Truck had a different name. I would suggest that if you break down in Baton Rouge you should just call Malones Wrecker Service and pay to have it towed here it would probably be just as cheap. I dont mind paying for a job but Rip me off and this big mouth is gonna spread the word!!!!!!!! Just a warning to our trucking friends. Feel Free to share!!!
