Well so far a) the travel agent who booked this flight booked me with the last name Noelfacente, which means my ticket doesnt match my passport, which apparently breaks every computer in SFO, b) same travel agent neglected to apply my United number so I am not eligible for any of the premiere upgrades or services I would otherwise receive, and c) some other guy was assigned to my same seat (!), and it took them 20 minutes to determine whether one of us would have to leave the very full flight, and which one got to keep the seat in the back corner by the bathroom. (They miraculously found him another seat somewhere after 20 minutes of him awkwardly joking that I was welcome to sit on his lap.) Considering I have not yet begun what will be about 32 hours of travel time before landing in Cape Town.......this does not bode well.
