Well, thanks to AGT everyone knows what poppet magic is. Mike Super falsely claimed that he placed the spirit of Desmond into one of the shows judges, but this is not correct. What he did manage to do, was to show the world why Voodoo dolls or poppets do actually work if the right amount of will is focused into them. It also helps if the person is in the same room. As you might expect, everything he did to the doll was put onto her. From a simple tap to an electric shock. This guy just showed a lot of people who did not need to know they could use poppets to get back at bosses, co-workers, former lovers, exc - that these things can kill or mortally injure a person.
