Well that was an enjoyable evening. Loads of good bands and a Jim Threat & the Vultures single to boot.... First up was Love Nasty very agressive hardcore. not really my thing but you could tell these guys were bang on. Talented young guys.... Talking of talenteded young guys next up was Salem Street. Great mix of all punk / ska styles. A generous helping of the Clash and early Green day. Great set. Coulda listened to them all night. I had missed Jim Threat & The Vultures in Kirkcaldy last month and heard all the rave reviews they were getting. And rightly so it seems. really loved their sound...really powerful for a 3 piece. Deffo catch them again real soon Always love going to see The Eddies. Always entertaining and this being their first gig with their new guitarist was interested to see how he got on. To be honest guys you have to get rid of him - hes far too pretty for you ugly bassas haha. sound was great - there was a few mishaps along the way but he battled through them. was worth the drive just to see Pete Ray fall off the stage at the end. Was also a pleasure getting a blether to a few folk who were just facebook names beforehand. great to hear folks general enthusiasm for what they are hearing around the venues these days. Nobody bought any Meteors tickers right enough... miserable gits hahaha Great night though. well worth the trip and the bargain £5 entry. wasnt really all that busy but kinda re-affirmed that in the current climate folk are picking carefully which gigs they are going to. More likely to go see a "Big name" touring band than either local bands or smaller named touring bands. which is a shame as a lot of brilliant bands are playing to virtually empty halls. Of course there is also the Wickerman and Rebellion which takes a lot of peoples hard earned cash at this time of year... Roll on the 7th August - cant wait to get playing again
