Well this is convenient timing... and I can hear it already Not ALL Muslims... Now, in the interest of being fair: no, the Quran does not ever explicitly forbid pictures of Mohammed. One of the Hadiths forbids all paintings and pictures (watch out internet, your cat memes are an affront to Islam), but images of Mohammed in particular are never expressly forbidden. What is forbidden in the Quran, however is idolatry, or worshipping pictures. If you think about this, in a way it really makes sense. If you give people an image of someone who is supposedly the greatest prophet to ever walk the earth, you risk having people start worshipping the image, and then youve just committed idolatry. So if you look at this from the angle of someone who really takes the Quran seriously, murdering these people makes all kinds of sense. So sure, not all Muslims, just the ones who actually take the Quran seriously. The ones who think its a joke dont really care all that much.
