Well, this time I have a sad post!! We "lost" Tex yesterday afternoon! Last Friday it was evident he had lost the use of his left rear leg--he could hobble and put a tiny bit of weight on it for brief seconds--at first we thought it was just asleep but it never "woke" up! It was cancer all around his hip joint and his hip was fractured. Pain scale was an 8 out of 10--treatment was a pain pill that would keep him knocked out and out of it all the time, which was not an option OR amputation at the hip followed by chemo, which also was not an option. He would have been 14 next month and he has had a wonderful life so we opted to send him to Rainbow Bridge. The vet said this was the right decision--a very very difficult one to make but his quality of life was doing down as we watched him on a daily basis so I do feel we did the right thing! He can be with Gabby at Rainbow Bridge and they can play like they did as puppies! Good bye my big beautiful black TEX!!!! You will be missed and loved forever!!
