Well, today Barb and I took a ride out to Milford to check out - TopicsExpress

Well, today Barb and I took a ride out to Milford to check out buying a brushcutter. The dealer was the anchor store in a strip mall which contained something you rarely see anymore, an independent one-off mom & pop toy store. Naturally I popped in looking for my fix. I found some good stuff hanging on the pegs, nothing earthshattering, but interesting nonetheless. There were bags of figures by Supreme, BMC 2.0 and Americana. I picked up a bag of BMC Iwo Jima marines and Japs, a most welcome bag of Americana LBH Indian ponies and camp accessories, 2 bags of Americana ACW cavalry and 3 bags of BMC 2.0 Appomattox infantry. Ive seen all this stuff before, online, but I wanted to hold them in my hands and see what they were like before I bought any. The Appomattox bags each contain 18 figures in 5 poses. There are one each of Grant & Lee and 4 each of the other 4 poses, half in blue and half in grey. Beyond saying that the 2 character figures are quite nice, Ill let the pics speak for themselves. The Americana cavalry figures seem kind of sad to me. The figures look sorta melted, like a chocolate bunny left out in the rain or sun. The bags were supposed to be half blue and half grey but the mix was actually about 3/4 grey. One of the horses had a broken off and missing leg and one of the bags was missing the dead horse. The mounted Lee & Grant and the single pose of horse are all from the original BMC ACW molds. The other poses are new to me. After that, we drove down the road to a Super Walmart and found some other interesting things, but thats another post. Stand by.
