Well, today is not the day for me to try and take shortcuts. Almost missed the trash guys this morning. Anna went running down the driveway with two bags in hand and passed them off to the trash guys at the moment they were pulling out of our driveway - but alas, we had one bag that didnt get there in time. Rather than just putting it outside in the cans I had the brilliant idea of taking it to work with me. Nice big dumpster there and as long as we are not making a problem for our work trash, we are allowed to do that on occasion. I arrived at my office and had far to much stuff to carry inside - let alone this bag of trash. Instead of taking two trips (because its so cold outside) I load it all up in my arms and somehow manage to get the van door shut and head for the back door. Now, understand, I have to actually walk past the dumpster in order to get to the door I go in. But for some reason I decided to stop 15-20 feet from the dumpster and try to toss the bag in the open end. Maybe I thought it would be easier to carry everything else if I quickly got rid of the bag. So I gave the bag that nice little practice swing and let it go flying toward the dumpster. Apparently,...Im much stronger than I thought I was. Maybe its the Krav. Or maybe I just misjudged the weight of the bag. But it went SOARING through the air, completely missing both open sides of the dumpster and headed for the other side of the loading dock. Unfortunately, it didnt quite clear the farthest corner of the dumpster and the plastic bag caught the post that sticks out of the side - completely ripping the bag down the side - sending my trash spewing all over the dock, the ground, and everywhere BUT the dumpster. So instead of finding quick relief from the cold, I spent the next several minutes outside picking up my trash, giving myself the what were you thinking speech, and remembering shortcuts arent always so short.
