Well, truck broke down as I picked up my load. Learned the clutch assembly in the truck went to pot. Dang automatics. But in the process of dealing with tranny issue they found my frame was cracked. My boss got jacked on the deal cuz its been there awhile and in a place I couldnt have found it in any pretrip. The mechanic said, youve had someone looking over you. I tossed all night after I was asked to get it back to Topeka. Im all for saving money but my conscience wouldnt let me, forcing me to call my boss and refuse to drive the truck in its current condition. Its illegal and unsafe for the motoring public and me. I was totally expecting to be fired, but although angry, he was reasonable. Im already beating myself up for riskng lives without knowing it was this way. And somebody knew that crack was there as large as it is, and they sold my boss that truck! Now I sit here waiting for a plan from Topeka. Who knows, I could be on a plane back to Kansas tonight. On the plus side, Fairfield, California is treating me well!
