Well, we did go off for that little jaunt, just a 7 mile walk alongside the Tennant canal. It turned out to be a beautiful day around the coastal areas of Neath/ Swansea. We parked the ute at Neath, then set off eastwards in the direction of Swansea. We soon passed the beautifully kept ruins of Neath Abbey, but this is quickly followed by a mile or so of passing through an industrial area, though to be fair, the canal itself is being kept in good condition. We then encountered what you see in the third pic, but as it wasnt printed in Welsh as well as English, we decided to ignore it. (Oh the dangerous decisions we make!!) Actually, it wasnt that bad, and we were soon on a decent pathway again. At that point, we couldnt believe our eyes, as travelling along the canal towards us, was a paddle boat! It is 1 of 2 that are used to control the weeds and reedbanks, as we were informed by two workers that we met a little further on.The canal then curves inland until it reaches the small village of Jersey Marine, where, much to our delight, we found a rather luxurious spot to sit and have a break before retracing our steps back to Neath. Where to next? Havent decided yet. Obviously, I have more pics of the Abbey etc, but cant put them all on at once, but if anyone requests some, I will post some more. Until next week, Cheerio.
