Well, we didnt know we had moved into Ft. Knox!!! I posted what our outside walls were like. Well, it is just as secure inside. We had an electrician come to add a couple of outlets (older homes just didnt have as many in each room) which he thought would be a simple task. Als he had to do was go through the wall between 2 rooms and extend the wiring for the new outlets. Well...hours later and lots of drilling, etc., it is finished! The inside walls have a layer of stucco (normal), under which is a layer of concrete and a thick layer of terra cotta brick! The walls are about a foot thick! Robert says the roof may blow off and the windows blow out but NOTHING will knock this house down!!! Good to know, but hanging pictures will be one heck of a job - and we have LOTS of pictures! I have bent many nails and my left thumb is sore from being hit, but I did manage to get a few light ones hung. Now I have to by a concrete bit for my drill to hang some and then get a contractor to hang the heavy ones! WHEW! Not an easy task...
