Well we had quite the eventful weekend! Left for WV on Friday to pickup 3 nursing moms and their pups and a little beagle girl who needed a new home. Took 6.5 hours to get to Ripley WV arrived at 10pm to find that everything closes in Ripley by 10 so ate chips and salsa for dinner and went to bed. Got up to phone ringing and dealing with a stray in New Holland. Josh & Paula Redcay agreed to take on trying to trap and save the pup in New Holland. Traps were set and flyers hung, neighbors talked to and a pattern of the dogs habits established.... Worked on paper work for rescue since I decided the last time I did transport to never try to do it all in a day and a half (at 52 I dont have the energy it takes LOL). Got up Sunday morning to my phone ringing and a neighbor in New Holland frantic saying Im looking right at the dog..... :) Calmed her down, called Paula & Josh and headed to pick up the 11 pups coming back with us... Got to the shelter and saw another adorable that had just been given up so decided she needed saved for the holidays too. Loaded up 12 adorable dogs and headed for PA. Phone rings and YAY stray dog was trapped and now in the loving arms of the Redcays, headed for an emergency visit at Palmyra Animal Clinic. Josh and Paula called a few hours later to tell me the dog was hospitalized with a broken leg and we would deal with the extent of injury in the morning. I LOVE our 2nd Chance family members that dont just salute when its convenient!!!! Met up with 2 foster families in Carlisle and delivered one nursing mom and 3 pups to the one family and our add on precious package to the other. Got back in the car and next stop was Elizabethtown. 2 more fosters picked up their precious bundles and then I went and introduced the little beagle girl to her new forever friend beagle and her new mom & dad :) Then off to Pizza Town to sign 300 Christmas Cards and address them with 5 of our wonderful 2nd Chance members. Today started with a call from the vet that our little stray has to have surgery and a plate and screws placed in the leg..... Shepley needs a skin biopsy to figure out why he keeps losing his fur.... My set of puppies need their 2nd set of vacs. WOW rescue just never stops! We are in desperate need of puppy food (canned) Tractor Supply has a great canned puppy food called 4health puppy and its only 99 cents a can! We also are in need of puppy pads and LOTS of them! Clorox Wipes too.
