Wendell Ray Whitley, 52 of Chickamauga finished his work on Earth and God called him home on Friday, June 28, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved spending time outdoors, enjoyed Civil War Relic hunting and his family was his greatest joy. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and Poppa who will be dearly missed but we rest assured in the Blessed Hope that we will all be together in heaven one day. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Whitley. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 17 years, Jeanette Clark Whitley; daughter & son-in-law, Melissa & (Jason) Wilson; sons and daughter-in-law, Aaron & (Katie) Whitley and Clay Whitley; four grandchildren, Aubrey Wilson, Parker Wilson, Haley Kersker and Austin James Whitley; mother, Barbara Whitley; brother, Ricky Whitley; niece, Abbey Whitley and parents-in-law, Richard and Barbara Clark. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Chickamauga City Cemetery with Bro. Matthew Kennedy officiating. The family will begin receiving friends after 3 p.m. Sunday and prior to leaving for the graveside service on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements by W. L.
