Wendover Heights Veterinary Centre is fifty years old in January - TopicsExpress

Wendover Heights Veterinary Centre is fifty years old in January 2015! We would like to share and celebrate this milestone with you, our clients, colleagues and friends and thank you for trusting us with the care of your animals and your loyalty over the years. Over the last fifty years we have grown from a small practice located on the High Street in Wendover called Parker and Godsall. The vets saw everything with four legs from cows to kittens and there wasn’t a computer in sight! There were also no appointments, no option to specify a visit time and definitely no free visit zones. Wendover Heights Veterinary Centre is now a large mixed practice with fantastic facilities and employs over sixty people. During this time we have seen vets, nurses and support staff come and go, and sometimes go and come back again! The practice has a well-earned reputation for good, honest, professional veterinary care for all the animals in our community whether they are large or small. You may or may not be aware that Wendover Heights Equine has seen some significant changes in the last twelve months. Three of our established vets have moved on, Vicky O’Gorman has joined her sisters’ equine practice in Dorset, Clare McKinstry left to pursue a partnership opportunity at another practice and Samantha Castle has moved north to be closer to her family and boyfriend. The good news is that Samantha is returning to the team in February on a short term basis. Our equine nurse Emily Andrews also left in June to have her first baby. Lots of you will also be aware that Director Mike Hewitt has been off sick since March this year and sadly there is no sign of his return to the practice as yet. Throughout this year, despite the changes, we have fought to continue to be the best we can be, to deliver exceptional service and veterinary care to our clients and their horses and to recruit experienced and dedicated individuals to join the veterinary team. January 2015 brings us further challenges as two members of the equine team have decided to leave us and set up their own practice in the local area. This is a disappointing decision for us but one that practices all over the country face at times. With this news in mind we want to reassure you, our clients old and new, that Wendover Heights Equine is still going strong, we have a team of experienced and dedicated equine vet and we are committed to you our client, your horses and to continuing to provide first class veterinary care. We are recruiting new veterinary surgeons to join our team and appreciate that it takes time to get to know and develop relationships with new vets but we promise that we will only employ the best! We face some challenging times ahead but are determined that Wendover Heights Veterinary Centre and Wendover Heights Equine will start the New Year delivering the same excellent veterinary care and service to our clients that we have done for the last fifty years and will continue to do so long into the future. Best wishes Rachel, Equine Coordinator
