Went to the new Outback again last nite. Not nearly the crowd as opening week. Honest opinion and observations here. Upside: Stuffed mushroom appetizer magnificent. Blooming onion is always excellent. Tables being vacated were bussed quickly and set up for incoming traffic. Downside: Service at bar (where we chose to eat) was extremely slow. with a bar that crowded, they need two bar-keeps working at all times. Had to ask for utensils. Steak was way rare but ordered medium (didnt bother to send it back, just brought it home). Asparagus was undercooked, if cooked at all. There is no Miller Lite on tap. Thats amazing. Only have about four beer taps. A couple sitting next to us at the bar waited at least ten minutes before being acknowledged although they and several others of us were trying to get Novas attention (she works the bar and would spend ten minutes at a time at the computer screen touching icons). One woman at the bar was doing nothing but washing mugs and would not acknowledge customers even when hailed to do so. I may be wrong but am still assuming this wait staff and bar crew are imports here for opening weeks. Whether or not thats the case, if they dont pick it up a notch, theyre going to become another mediocre local eatery rather than a local destination. And while the franchisee is at the other location EVERY evening, Ive yet to see him at this one.
