Were Planting Seeds for the Future The issues that threaten the survival of the turtles here are many, but Kent Holdings Limited together with SOS Tartarugas believe that with cooperation and determination the future of turtles in Cabo Verde can be assured. Dear Kent Holdings Limited We are delighted to be able to send you a photo of your adopted baby turtle. Thank you for visiting the Turtle Conservation Centre and supporting our work. Without generous donations, like yours, from visitors to Sal, Cape Verde, we would not be able to continue to protect nesting loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta ) and their habitat. So far in 2013 we have had a great season with many tagged turtles from previous years returning to our beaches but as ever we have to be very vigilant to prevent the large scale slaughter of this endangered species on Sal. In this respect, this year we have attempted to spread our patrols to the furthest most beaches on Sal by employing more local Rangers. We continue to organise community and educational projects and this year we have also sent some of our Rangers to help with projects on Sao Nicolau and for the first time ever, we have paid for and organised trips to the Islet of Rombo to survey for nests and tracks. You can read about these projects and keep up to date with what is happening by liking our facebook page or subscribing to our blog. Thank you for helping to save turtles in Cape Verde. Regards, Neal, and the SOS Tartarugas team. turtlesos.org turtlesoscaboverde.blogspot/ facebook/pages/Turtle-SOS-Cabo-Verde/123804725113?ref=ts
