Were appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 23 year old motorcyclist from Leigh died following a collision with a car in Chorley yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 29th January. The collision took place just after 4pm when two 125cc motorbikes were being ridden along Bolton Road towards Chorley. The first motorbike has overtaken two slow moving vehicles near to Albany Academy but when the second bike has attempted to make the same overtake, the rider has lost control of the machine and collided with an oncoming Fiat Panda. The rider was transported to Royal Preston Hospital with multiple injuries but he sadly died a short time later. Sergeant Finn Quainton from the Force Road Policing Unit said: “An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the collision but I would appeal to any witnesses to the collision to contact Lancashire Police on 101.” Bolton Road was closed for three and a half hours for an investigation to take place.
