Were excited to announce that our entrance into supporting local health policy was successful at today’s City Council Meeting. The ordinance to prohibit the sale and delivery of electronic devices to minors passed on the consent agenda. Representatives from Central Health spoke in support of the ordinance and presented the resolution approved by our Board just last night. We were also accompanied by a group of public health advocates from Smokefree ATX, PhD Students from the UT School of Public Health, the Cancer Action Network, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and other citizens. Congratulations to everyone involved for helping Austin take this important step toward better health.
