Were getting ready for a trip of a lifetime. Through Make-A-Wishs incredible generosity, were going to Disneyworld. Theres a special resort in Kissimmee that is just for Wish kids and their families called Give Kids the World. The resort is a storybook village with so many amazing things to do in itself. We have so many incredible things that are being provided for that week. The excitement is building up...for us grownups. Our son doesnt know about it yet. Oh, he knows that he met with a person and told her what hed like to do. He knows he was accepted for a wish, but that was months ago. The ladies are still planning his big reveal. The organization is sending us an itinerary of things that are available to us during that time and when they recommend we should do them. Gifts and meals are being planned for our little man. This is truly an experience of a lifetime. He has no clue we leave in fifteen days. Were the same way, arent we? Those who have accepted Christ as our Savior made a decision. Ultimately, we will have a destination. Sometimes, I think we forget that this world is not our home. We will be going to a place where God will be praised, no pain exists and tears have been permanently wiped away. No disappointment. No calendars. No watches. It will be incomprehensibly wonderful. But, we dont know when were going. So we tend to shove that thought in the back of our minds. As Christians, we have the assurance that God is planning a place for us, but we dont always act like it. The itinerary is already set. We need to start living as if we truly believe it. Get excited! Ask others to join you. No one knows when that last trip will be. We should constantly be preparing our hearts and minds. How amazing that destination will be!! And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:3
