Were within a couple of hours of Fayetteville and happy to be this close. After a rocky and scary trip to the ship, the 8-day cruise was really nice and super smooth! We went on shore excursions in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. In Cozumel Miles climbed on some rocks while swimming in the ocean and stepped on a sea urchin, getting 10-12 spines in the sole of his foot. (He had just removed his water shoes.) That created quite a diversion for the beach-goers. We knew nothing about sea urchins then; we know a lot about sea urchins now! Vinegar and staying in the ocean helps the spines dissolve, FYI! Other than Miles accidentally locking himself in a pool deck bathroom one afternoon and having to get help to get him out, the trip was remarkable only for the smooth sailing, the friendly staff, and the superb musical shows. The main male performer will be on Broadway someday. Im certain of it! We got such a great deal on this trip, mainly for being a return Carnival cruiser (once before) and for doing a last-minute booking (four days before sailing). This trip was the Carnival Dream, a rather large ship carrying over 3500 passengers. Cant say enough about the kids club onboard... Both kids enjoyed their separate age groups so much! Fun-filled and very secure. First thing we had to do this morning after leaving the ship was to get our tire repaired...so far, so good. We have yet to completely get over our scare of a week ago on I-20 with the trees falling completely across both lanes and nearly crushing our car. The branches left marks on our car, but all is good. Stacy is insisting on doing all the driving, so Im passing the time writing this... In spite of being someone who doesnt like sun, sand and surf, I had a lovely time...and thats saying something!!!
