Were you born to be a celebrity? Have you always dreamt of being on TV? If you are goal-oriented, determined and charismatic, this is your chance to shine. Vee TV is looking for irresistible fresh talent to audition for news reading and presenting positions. “The station is looking for confident presenters with that something special,” says Vee TV programme manager Martha Makhela. “Experience is necessary, but we are looking for individuals who are engaging and can deliver the scripts in their own way and make them their own. We need people who will come alight onscreen and have real character,” says Makhela. The station is looking for 11 presenters and six news readers to join producers for our hot lineup shows. The second South Africa’s commercial station will be launched in April 18 this year to cater infotainment for the global community. It seeks for total citizen broadcast, without prejudice, favour, delivering content concerning our viewers. Vee TV is coming soon on OpenView HD, channel 154. It is a subscription-free channel, featuring the best in local content. You will need to have a clear diction with a resonant voice and be able to read from a prompter. The camera must fall in love with you, and you should be fluent in Tshivenda, Sepedi, Xitsonga or English. “Applicants need to be eloquent and capable of finding their own voice,” Makhela says. “To stand a real shot, they need to be smart, intuitive and perceptive.” Auditions are open to the public. Prior experience and memorised audition scripts are not necessary. Those auditioning can bring in their own 60-second script on a favoured topic, or a script will be provided to them. Vee TV auditions will be held on 21 March 2014 between 9am and 4pm at Gabaza Building, 25a, cnr Biccard and Devenish streets, Polokwane.
