West Rainton F.C. are back in action this weekend with a home cup game against Framwellgate moor.w.m.c. This game has turned into a derby game over the last few seasons and has always been a tight affair,two seasons ago Fram won their home game and managed a drew at Rainton Park,last season honours were even with both teams winning their home fixture. Framwellgate Moor gained promotion last season so this is the only chance for the two teams to meet this season(unless they are drawn together in another cup)and the Rainton lads are looking forward to it. The whole dressing room agreed that it was a well below par performance from West Rainton when they were beaten by Fram in a pre-season friendly and they aim to put things right on sunday. Co-mananger Andrew Vayro saidwe need a lift after the washington game and this fixture is perfect for us,if this game cant get the boys going then i dont know what can.hopefully we should have a full squad for the game although im not sure if Ian Brown will make it,he took a nasty knock against Washington and could still be out,saying that we have some keen young lads waiting for their chance and i have faith in all the lads in the team Andrew also added Fram are having a bit of a rough season so far and are finding it hard to get used to division 2 but they are still a half decent side,the 2 lads up front,nicky barker and smithy can get goals and new signing jack rutter is a good player(hes my godson and should be playing for rainton but we wont go into that !!!)so we have to be up for it West Rainton have been working hard all season and that has made them hard to beat,it has also made them a confident side who believe in themselves and this should make them slight favorites for sundays game,Andrew said we have a great attitude at the moment,we were below par against Washington but kept battling til the end and could have got a point.on sunday we need to keep the hard work going but get on top early and start to play football,when we add that to the hard work we play some great stuff.if we do everything right we have a good chance of getting into the next round of the cup but we must not underestimate the oppersition The West Rainton lads enjoyed a good bonding night last saturday(a bit too much for some of the older lads!!!) and the good crack should continue in the dressing room on sunday.
