Western Military Academy in Alton Ill, about 1904. I believe my great grandfather, Alex Bischoff, is 7th from left in the middle row of the standing picture. He is 3rd from right in the 1st row of the band picture. His German immigrant father, Gustav Bischoff, founded the St Louis Independent Packing Co. Alex would later become president of the company, as well as president of Manchester Bank. He died a young man, at age 45, on my grandparents honeymoon.
