Whare Tapere Staff assessment completed today... phew ;o) Have to say that was one of the hardest most intimidating performance. Had to compose a whakaeke, put a tune to, make actions, movements and perform in front of our peers! Thank goodness we had an awesome team to work with - Hemi Jim Tahuparae, Ngahuia Hemara-Wahanui, Waima Mihaka, Bill Kathleen Doyle, Kahukura Kemp, Kelly-Anne Ngatai and Diane Prince. We can all sleep easy tonight lol. To all the other kapa groups - Waiata-a-Ringa, Haka, and Whakawātea, kei runga noa atu koutou! It was definitely an awe inspiring morning to witness everyones compositions and to see how much each group achieved. Cant thank Rama Ashford and aunty Petina Winiata enough for their input, direction and encouragement, or should I say your faith in us staff, we seem to be the worst procrastinators ever when it comes to preparing, but when the pressures on some how we pull everything together lol.... ngā mihi nunui ki a kōrua. Also our Kaiwhakawā, Raymond Peeti, Mohi Apou and Andrena Rawinia Kaka, and kuia aunty Margaret Winiata - thanks for taking the time to come and be apart of our nerve wracking day, ending with a shared fabulous kai!!!
