What: Going out of business sale. Where: My house When: Now, I - TopicsExpress

What: Going out of business sale. Where: My house When: Now, I guess. A wise friend sent me this: Dedicated Christians get trapped into hoarding because they fear the “what if” of retirement, disability, unemployment, or economic collapse. To claim God’s victory, it may be necessary for you to face your fear. If your fear is a lack of surplus, it may be necessary to live without it in order to conquer that fear. August 2011 I ended a chapter of my life as “prepared” as possible in every way with no debt and 12 months income set aside for my fear of the “what if”. Twenty three months later and for the first time in my 50 years, I am flat broke and in terrible debt, facing eviction and loss of all self-respect. “Pride comes before the fall” My pride has prevented me from asking for and accepting when offered, help from friends and family. I have a wonderful friend in the news media who wants my story told to help others in my position and I have refused because I’m too proud. Only out of anger did I contact my Congressman, half expecting to be ignored. My pride and faith in the system to right itself has led to my fall. I’ve been foolish and only now see what others have been trying to tell me all along. I cannot help others until I help myself first. So, I plan to face my fear of ‘what if’ and rid myself of “things” I’ve held onto for more years than I’d like to admit and be done with these items that have little or no value to anyone but me that have become ‘idols’ for lack of a more appropriate word. Thank you all for your prayers, they have brought comfort; for you words of wisdom, they have brought joy and tears. I’ll forever be in your debt, however, the debt the bank is requesting is a bit more tangible. I’ll be fine as this too shall pass. *If you can’t see any of my “heirlooms” in your junk room or next garage sale, please contact your Congressman about how pleased you are with how American Disabled Veterans are being treated. God bless.
