This advertisement for Rainforest Alliance products is clever and funny, yes. But the root message is sad, if you really think it through. It goes from making light fun of a dozen urban hip expressions of social responsibility to calling direct action cliché to asking the viewer to enact perhaps the most cliché expression of social responsibility of all: to consume, albeit carefully. I say DO do what this guy did, or at least hike to the heart of the rainforest & back on a Kickstarter fund drive and buy some rainforest acreage for preservation. Being a T.E. Lawrence or a Julia Butterfly isnt for everyone. But history sure aint gonna remember you for being a good consumer. - Rick McKinney
