What Sooty did next: last night I let Sooty out before I went to bed, he always brings a toy upstairs, the more times he goes up in an evening the more toys arrive upstairs. Anyway I didnt see if he picked up a toy, dont think so. We were upstairs, Sooty was behaving a little oddly, looked very guilty, I was getting ready for bed, I noticed something on the carpet, a little black pile of something disgusting looking - Sooty went to look at it too then left it when I told him to. I had a closer look - a dead mouse! OMG! So I had to get some tissue to pick it up and take it outside to the bin, I checked and it did seem to be totally dead, no signs of breathing! I said You are sleeping in the dog bed!, and he went there meek as can be, and stayed there most of the night until the morning anyway (very unusual). He is trying to be cuddly today, he feels bad about it. I dont expect he meant to kill the mouse, probably wanted a pet!
