What a GREAT Roundtable program we experienced on December 6th, with a lecture by Kate Feighery, who is the Archival Manager at the Archives of the Archdiocese of New York, and who also is the Roundtables new Vice President for Local History! We had a filled-to-capacity crowd in the McCloskey Room of the Parish House at the Basilica of St. Patricks Old Cathedral on Saturday afternoon, and everyone enjoyed Kates description of the holdings of the Archdiocesan Archives, as well as her dissertation on Catholic sacramental records and how best to obtain them. The Roundtables interest in genealogy research will again be highlighted on February 28th of 2015, when Irish-born genealogist and author Joe Buggy will join us at Glucksman Ireland House for a program on Finding Your Irish Ancestors in New York City, which is the title of his recent book. We reviewed his book in our latest annual journal, Volume 27 of New York Irish History and we were impressed with it. Make sure to be with us on the afternoon of February 28th, 2015!
