What a cracker of a day was had at the OBC Kids Christmas Party on Sunday (7th Dec). 150+ kids turned up with their parent/s and some grandparents for what was a stunning Auckland day. The kids didnt hesitate to beeline for the Bouncy Castle, while others decided on their gorgeous little lunchbox first. Followed was some ice cream or candy-floss on a stick. There were balloon twisters, face painters and a little after midday, Charlie the Christmas Elf provided some magic tricks for the littlies, who managed to keep them entertained for a good half hour. The lolly scramble that followed got them rushing out of the tent, just as three loud blows from the horn, quickly followed by a quick shout-out that Santa had just landed on a boat and was being ferried up the fairway. The kids and their parents couldnt get to the Club jetty fast enough. Santa tied up the boat and before long was handing out lollies as he walked to his throne to hand out presents to all the 10 and unders. This event is the 2nd largest on the Club calendar and was enjoyed by all. It was neat to see the kids so consumed by the magic of xmas and the glint in the eyes of all the parents who wished they could be in their shoes once again. A big thanks to all the services who provided goods for the days event, the AMAZING volunteers, helpers and staff who helped be an integral part of the day. MERRY XMAS EVERYONE!
