What a day yesterday was. Christmas Lunch at the Club which was a great hit. Excellent food, great crowd and wonderful entertainment provided by Irit Noble and then Alan Committie who was a sensation. I left the Club at about 5 and went down to Artscape to the FMR 101.3 Christmas party which was great. Good to see all those volunteers again. At 6.30 I was on my way again to the Alma Cafe in Rosebank. I have never been there before and what a different vibe it is. Sit at long refectory tables and presented with a plate of food before the show. Sort of a hang-out for aging hippies. The entertainment was provided by Gert Vlok Nel, a poet and balladeer. Gentle Afrikaans music and then home to a welcoming bed.
