What a great break the guys at the shop and Tim have helped make - TopicsExpress

What a great break the guys at the shop and Tim have helped make possible. Ive been working so much without a moment to clear my head that I have neglected many things. Morning coffee studying the industry has been one. It occurs to me what those of us who participated in the Bullseye event save one; shot their EDC gun. Im still impressed with what I saw, but I know good research went into the selection. The topic of DIY gun work surfaced in another area and I saw some of it at the Bullseye event. There was at least 1 regular competitor having to test fire his carry gun before and during the competition, one can only assume because of recent work. Luckily one of our TG members stepped up the game and kept them in the competition until almost the final round. There wont always be someone there to help you out when your skills or your equipment fails you. In the article I shared from Mike P. he makes some pretty good suggestions, some you have to realize for yourself and others the work can in fact be done by others. Its not a secret that many in the TG are running G19s but when you go thru the list of criteria according to Mike you can sort of see why, and that work was done in part by those that came before us. I understand those places and departments that say no work to the trigger and stand behind the liability curtain as a reason... but that shouldnt apply when that work is done to create a more accurate and more reliable final product. Sadly what we find are many times are enhancements done at the kitchen table that only serve to create more problems. It would be hard for me to even estimate how many folks come into the store and the primary criteria surrounding the purchase of a defensive gun is price driven, and we know many of those wont even step out and train with the new gun purchase. Same holds true in the holster marketplace. As you all can imagine I spend a great deal of time looking around the industry. The last few weeks I have been amazed at the number of semi-concealed holsters that have popped up. That is one of the reasons that our CCW program is going to make another huge shift starting after the new year, we are going to start teaching concealed carry and we are going to provide the correct tools for our students to make educated decisions.... I havent worked out all the details as yet soldiersystems.net/2014/12/27/gunfighter-moment-mike-pannone-24/
