What a great day ,first Saturday as mayor started with meeting some volunteers who are giving up a week of their timefor the police and fire games later on in the year,then to open a fantastic exhibition charting 400 years of portadown in the high street mall.(really worth a visit) Then down the M1 to peatlands park were The Birches Rural needs group (BARN) were holding a family fun day where I hear the MP David Simpson won a three legged race(ahem!). Back down the motorway to Dollingstown FC fun day at Planters park,were I had tea with Mickey and Minnie mouse no less,then dashed over to portadown town hall for some Scottish Dancing then onto Scotch street multi-cultural festival were I fitted in a wee duet with Hugo Duncan. Really busy day but very enjoyable and must commend all the different organisers who give up so much of their time for others. Then had the honour tonight of walking with the district officers at the front of the parade around portadown at the annual mini-twelfth March. Knackered!
