Method 1 of 3: Removing Standing Water Method 2 of 3: Adjusting Gardening Schedules; plant Lemongrass, marigolds, scented geraniums, or pelargonium citrosum vanieenii, garlic and rosemary Method 3 of 3: Making Mosquito Repellent: Save your coffee grounds. Place them in an open container for approximately 1 month. Sprinkle the aged grounds in standing water to kill larvae. Spray leftover coffee on outdoor surfaces to act as a deterrent as well.
