What a stoopid fun week its been up here at Breck Epic. While Im not racing I have been able to help around 100 or so of these racers have a better race through Elevated Legs and give out at least a few Skittle hand ups in remote places:) Hanging out and hearing racers stories all week, watching friendships form and their common love get shared from chair to chair all day in our Squeeze station has just made me love the cycling community even more. Here we some how manage to transcend age, gender, political party, religious affiliation, wealth status, country of origin, language, marital status, and on and on. Its a place and time everyone seems to dig each other and have no time to bicker or squabble over meaningless crap. Friendships that are often just on Facebook become more personal and the small world cycling is becomes quickly realized as we all seem to have at lest one friend in common somewhere in our lives. Everyone seems so glad to be right here, right now. Its like the life before and after now is on pause and we all get to just live for 1 week how we wish we could all live every week. Most certainly a blessed week!
